SCHIPHOL - De Airport Going Green Awards 2016 zijn vandaag door de Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) uitgereikt op Schiphol. Dit gebeurde tijdens de internationale Airports Going Green conferentie, dat plaatsvindt op de Nederlandse luchthaven van 31 oktober tot 2 november.
Naast de Airport Going Green Awards zijn ook de Airports Going Green Award Honorable Mentions uitgereikt. De winnaars worden gekozen door het Evaluation Committee, een onafhankelijke jury bestaande uit specialisten van luchthavens. De prijzen worden uitgereikt aan projecten, personen of programma’s die zich inspannen voor duurzaamheid in de luchtvaart.
Het evenement is negen jaar geleden opgezet door de Chicago Department of Aviation en de American Association of Airport Executives en vindt sindsdien elk jaar plaats. Schiphol kreeg zelf in 2014 een Award uitgereikt voor haar duurzaamheidsprogramma.
